Dubrovnik is good for small-scale shopping rather than serious retail shopping.
If your idea of shopping is a large mall filled with international fashion brands, Dubrovnik probably will not be one of the highlights of your trip. The city has several smaller shopping centres, while a larger selection of high-street stores can be found outside Dubrovnik in neighbouring Župa dubrovačka. The Dubrovnik Tourist Board also describes the city’s retail offer as a mix of smaller centres, boutiques, Croatian products and local creative businesses.
Where Dubrovnik becomes more interesting is when you look for something connected to the destination itself: local food products, Croatian design, jewellery, wine, olive oil, traditional crafts or a small item that actually reminds you of where you bought it.
The easiest way to think about shopping in Dubrovnik is by area.
